ABG to launch faster screen printing unit at Labelexpo

Manufacturers of label converting machinery, AB Graphic International will be launching its flat screen printing unit with a faster speed at Labelexpo.

“Flat screen printing is traditionally the slowest module on any finishing machine, and at Labelexpo we’ll be launching our new flat screen printing unit, which has a significantly increased running speed,” says Tony Bell, ABG’s Sales Director.

The new module has a full rotary web motion, whilst still using a flatbed screen. The quality of UV Curing is also improved by the rotary web motion – ensuring consistency along the whole web.

The physical size of the module has also been reduced by over 20%, the repeat area has increased to 410mm in the web direction making it compatible with their Big Foot 50 hot foil stamping unit, and there is a chill roller option for delicate substrates.

Operators will benefit from an easier setup, and it has motorised lateral and skew adjustments for screen image position, plus on the run servo adjustment of the squeegee and scraper position. This makes it easy for the operator to adjust the level of ink through the mesh and onto the web.

ABG will also showcase a variety of their fleyeVision inspection systems at Labelexpo.

“Our FleyeLink Workflow manager creates a roll map of defects that can be doctored in a final process to eradicate substandard labels,” continues Tony.

“Using a barcode printer for closure labels on the end of the turret, the small rolls with faults can be identified and then run quickly through small rewinder that highlights where the errors are, ready to be doctored. It’s a very efficient way of getting product through the finishing department quickly to the end user, completely safe in the knowledge that all rolls are of the highest quality.”

ABG International will be available at Booth 6A37.

Nilpeter to premiere new flexo press at Labelexpo

Narrow web printing solutions manufacturers, Nilpeter will premiere their new FA flexo press at Labelexpo.

The latest addition to their state-of-the-art flexo solutions, the FA flexo press is designed to accommodate the printer’s ever-growing needs, and built around the modern press operator, with an intuitive user interface and fully mobile print controls. It provides a maximum level of stability, the tightest register tolerance, and excellent printing results on multiple substrates. Based on Nilpeter’s Clean-Hand design approach, the FA ensures clean hands during press operation, with a minimum of hands-on press interaction; all data is saved, jobs are easily recalled, and the press will auto register.

The new FA allows printers to enhance the performance and capability of their press with Value-Adding Units as well as Application and Automation Packages, according to application needs and budget.

Nilpeter will also display their upgraded digital PANORAMA Hybrid press. Since the launch of the PANORAMA digital product line at LabelExpo Europe 2015, the Danish press manufacturer has made major enhancements, including a re-design of the PANORAMA’s converting and flexo printing units, as well as updates of the press software.

The new digital PANORAMA Hybrid configurations cover a wide and varied spectrum of customer needs and requirements – from stand-alone, to all-round and value-added hybrids.

Nilpeter will be available in Hall 7 at stand nos 7B35 & 7B39.

Taghleef Industries to showcase wide range of specialized films

Taghleef Industries (Ti), global manufacturers of specialized films for the packaging of food and non-food products, labels, industrial and graphic arts applications, announced today that it will be attending Labelexpo 2017 from 25 – 28 September in Brussels. Taghleef will be located in Hall 5, Booth C40, displaying an unparalleled selection of BoPP films.

“We are excited to showcase our high-quality Specialty Label Films at Labelexpo Europe,” says Patrick Desies, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer at Taghleef Industries. “Many purchasing decisions are made subconsciously at the shelf. Our innovative films offer safe, sustainable options for a variety of high-quality packaging needs. We welcome attendees to visit our stand to experience the unique functionalities of our products.”

At Labelexpo, Taghleef will be showcasing its Specialty Label Films range, available for PSL facestock applications as well as over-laminations, IML (In Mold Label) and WAL (Wrap Around) roll-fed labels. Each film is designed according to labelling application, for either over-lamination or primary print substrate, and is suitable for gravure, flexo, offset, UV and in some cases digital printing.

In addition, Ti’s PSL portfolio is continuously expanding and one of the newest developments in the PSL portfolio is LSG. It is a white voided, very high yield facestock film with outstanding whiteness and gloss appearance.

For injection and thermoforming IML films, Ti will feature its high orange peel and ultra-high yield white voided films LIU and LIX, as well as LIM with its unique satin finish. Metallic look Titanium™ LTZ and LHZ complete the range, delivering high impact label designs.

Following the direction of lightweight packaging, LXI ultra-high yield wrap around white voided label film is a perfect choice for both converters and bottlers. LUS film for WAL applications dresses up containers with a contemporary matte finish.

Visitors to the Ti booth will also have the opportunity to see next generation films for heat shrink sleeve labels. Low-density polyolefin polymers create a sustainable, floatable solution that minimizes the impact on PET recycling systems and reduces the weight of the label compared to common shrink sleeve substrates. The exceptional shrink curve in the transverse direction (TD), guarantees up to 65% of shrinkage, offering the freedom to fully decorate containers in a wide variety of shapes and sizes with the potential for 360-degrees of eye-catching label graphics.
