Amcor introduces Magic One airless dispensing system for beauty and personal care packaging

Airless dispensing systems support product protection and controlled dispensing in personal care packaging

Amcor has introduced Magic One, an airless dispensing system designed for beauty and personal care packaging, incorporating a single engine architecture to support multiple product formats and dosing requirements.

The system is built around a single engine concept that enables output volumes ranging from 0.3 ml to 1 ml across different pack sizes and designs. This approach allows manufacturers to standardise components while adapting the same dispensing platform for a range of applications, reducing the need for multiple validation processes. The design also supports the development of product families using a common dispensing system.

From a materials perspective, the dispenser is manufactured entirely from polyolefin, enabling compatibility with existing recycling streams in regions with appropriate infrastructure. It achieves a restitution rate of 96%, aligning with the requirements of the European Union’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). The pack is also up to 9% lighter than comparable airless dispensers and can incorporate recycled polymer from Amcor’s CleanStream recycling process.

The airless system is designed to protect formulations by limiting exposure to air and enabling controlled dispensing. It delivers consistent doses at different angles and supports efficient product evacuation, which is relevant for high-value formulations. The lockable pump mechanism and lightweight structure are intended to support portability and controlled usage.

“Airless packaging is a major growth sector within the beauty and personal care market thanks to its excellent product protection and preservation capabilities and controlled product dispensing,” said Lara Alemany, product line director, Amcor Global Rigids Packaging Solutions. “Our new Magic One dispenser addresses the needs of both manufacturers and consumers and has been designed for PPWR compliance.”

The product has undergone consumer testing focused on usability, dosing accuracy, and handling performance.
