Zurich: Amcor has launched an updated version of its UniPak 1 kg pot for the dairy sector, aimed at reducing material usage while maintaining functional performance. The announcement was made on March 26, 2026 with intended use across global dairy packaging markets.
The product is a lightweight, round 1 kg rigid plastic container with a lid, used for packaging dairy products such as yogurt, cream, and similar items. It has been developed by Amcor to reduce material consumption and associated carbon emissions while maintaining required strength, durability, and compatibility with existing dairy filling lines.
The pot and lid together weigh 31.6 g using standard material. Compared to the previous version, this reduced weight can deliver up to a nine percent reduction in carbon emissions, based on anticipated production volumes. The container is made entirely from polypropylene, making it recycle-ready in regions with appropriate recycling infrastructure.
The lid is produced using compression moulding and is designed to be liquid-tight while maintaining high top-load strength. The container is manufactured from polypropylene, while the lid is compression moulded to ensure sealing performance, strength, and tamper evidence.
The UniPak 1 kg pot is intended for dairy product packaging, ensuring protection across the supply chain, ease of handling, and secure sealing during consumer use. Despite being lightweight, the container retains robustness, product protection capability, and improved tamper-evident features to enhance product security and consumer assurance.
