Amcor is supplying a combination of rigid and flexible packaging formats for de-icing salt products, targeting increased demand for varied formats in the European industrial salts market.
The company’s offering includes containers, trigger sprays, jerry cans, and bags, aiming to address functional requirements such as durability, moisture resistance, and ease of use. According to Amcor, each solution is designed for use in challenging winter conditions, while incorporating varying levels of post-consumer recycled (PCR) content to support recyclability.
Citing market data, Katrina Burrett, product line director for Amcor Rigid Packaging Solutions International, said: “According to Inkwood Research, the European Industrial Salts market has been growing with a CAGR of about 1.55% during the forecast period 2019–2027.” She added, “We are seeing several different types of de-icing products on the market, and this is why it is important to provide the widest range of practical and functional pack solutions to help companies maximize opportunities in the sector.”
Amcor’s rigid packaging formats include rectangular containers that can be made with up to 100% PCR content. The stackable design features a resealable lid and integrated handle. The jerry cans are designed for chemical compatibility and offer anti-glug dispensing via a Jeroboam closure. They are suitable for transport and can contain up to 50% PCR.
Trigger spray bottles include an all-plastic design to prevent corrosion and enhance recyclability. These can be tailored with various dispensing components and also include up to 50% PCR.
Flexible bags are available for vertical and horizontal form-fill-seal applications in sizes from 1 to 25 kg. These provide moisture protection and durability through tear and puncture resistance, and can be made with up to 50% recycled content.
