Aptar Closures expands dispensing solutions portfolio for specialty sauce market

Aptar’s expanded closures range aims to support cleaner, more precise dispensing in the specialty sauce category.

Aptar Closures has broadened its dispensing solutions portfolio to address the evolving needs of the specialty sauce market, introducing four closure types: Tower, Tab Top, Directional Snap Top, and Ecolite Directional Pour Spout.

The company, headquartered in Crystal Lake, Illinois, has developed these solutions to enhance functionality, hygiene, and ease of use while offering scalability for sauce producers. The closures are designed to support clean, portion-controlled dispensing, which Aptar’s recent consumer study identified as a key factor influencing purchase decisions.

Each product in the range addresses specific dispensing needs. The Tower closure, now produced in North America, features a flip-top design that allows for one-handed operation and eliminates contact with the spout. It is offered in 28-410 and PCO 1810 sizes with optional flow control valves.

The Tab Top closure, known for its directional dispensing and shelf visibility, is now being produced at expanded capacity. Suitable for both thin and thick sauces, it is available in 33-400 and 38-400 sizes with customizable color options.

The Directional Snap Top, available in the same sizes, provides a modern look with several orifice options for controlled dispensing across a variety of sauce types.

Rounding out the portfolio is the Ecolite Directional Pour Spout, a lightweight 28-400 closure developed to reduce material use without compromising performance or user convenience.

The expansion aligns with broader growth in the sauces and condiments market, which was valued at over $259 billion globally in 2024 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 5.5% through 2034, according to Global Market Insights. In the U.S., the hot sauce segment alone is expected to nearly double by 2032.

Aptar’s Tower closure was recently used in McCormick’s Frank’s RedHot Squeeze Sauces, which received the 2025 Package of the Year award from the Association for Dressings and Sauces.
