Bambrew Raises $10.3M to Expand Sustainable Packaging Operations Globally

Bambrew’s expansion supports rising global demand for compostable packaging alternatives.

Bambrew, has secured Rs90 crore (US$10.3 million) in new funding to scale up operations and enter international markets. The round was led by Ashok Goel, former Managing Director of Essel Propack, with participation from Japanese environmental venture capital firm ENRISSION INDIA CAPITAL.

The company plans to use the capital to double its production capacity, expand its research and development activities, and establish a presence in North America and the Middle East. Both regions are seeing increasing demand for alternatives to single-use plastics.

Founded by Vaibhav Anant, Bambrew develops home-compostable packaging products made from materials such as bamboo fibre, seaweed, agricultural waste, and recycled paper. Its product line includes garment bags, recyclable films intended to replace aluminium laminates, and custom B2B packaging.

“Bambrew is also preparing to enter the direct-to-consumer (D2C) market,” said co-founder Kunal Prasad, noting a shift that would complement the firm’s current focus on institutional clients.

The startup currently serves over 500 clients, including major retail and lifestyle brands such as Shoppers Stop, Puma, and Global Desi.

The funding follows a US$7.19 million Series A round completed in April 2024, bringing total investment to over US$17 million in just over a year. Bambrew also plans to expand its workforce to support its production and global outreach efforts.

With growing international pressure to reduce plastic use—particularly in e-commerce, fashion, and FMCG sectors—Bambrew’s expansion underscores the rising relevance of circular packaging models and bio-based material innovation in the packaging industry.
