CHIMEI to Highlight Recycled and Bio-Based Plastics for Packaging at K 2025

CHIMEI Corporation is set to showcase its latest advancements in sustainable materials at K 2025, the global plastics and rubber trade fair, taking place from October 8 to 15 in Düsseldorf. Among the highlights is the expanded Ecologue portfolio, offering recycled and biomass-balanced plastics that align with the growing demand for circular packaging solutions, particularly in emerging markets such as the Middle East and Africa (MEA).

Circularity through Ecologue

Originally introduced at K 2022, CHIMEI’s Ecologue platform brings together multiple approaches to sustainability, including mechanical recycling, chemical recycling, and biomass-based plastic alternatives. These materials are designed to lower the carbon footprint of products while meeting stringent performance requirements—key factors for the packaging industry under increasing regulatory and consumer pressure.

In packaging applications, CHIMEI’s mechanically recycled materials—rABS, rPC, and rPC/ABS—are particularly relevant for rigid packaging used in electronics, cosmetics, and food containers. Meanwhile, chemically recycled rMS and rMABS offer enhanced purity and consistency, making them suitable for applications where aesthetics and technical precision are critical.

The Ecologue portfolio has been developed to offer scalable solutions that address both performance demands and sustainability goals. With the packaging sector under increasing pressure to reduce environmental impact, particularly in expanding markets like the Middle East and Africa—these materials are positioned to support manufacturers in meeting regulatory and market-driven sustainability targets.

Visitors to CHIMEI’s booth (A06, Hall 5) will have the opportunity to explore case studies and participate in discussions on sustainable design, material innovation, and carbon reduction strategies. The company’s focus on value chain integration also includes partnerships with packaging manufacturers and regional suppliers, a step toward enabling broader access to certified recycled materials in the MEA region.
