Cosmo Films has expanded its flexible packaging portfolio with a new range of specialty films tailored for pet food applications. The new range includes solutions based on BOPP, CPP, and BOPET technologies, targeting both dry and wet pet food products. The launch is aimed at addressing the increasing demands for safety, durability, and extended shelf life in pet food packaging.
The product lineup includes a TR-BOPP heat-resistant transparent film capable of withstanding temperatures up to 185°C. This film offers a uniform linear tear, making it a potential replacement for conventional PET-based print layers. The portfolio also includes anti-fog transparent BOPET lidding films that improve product visibility, COPET-coated BOPET films for better adhesion and machinability, and coated metallized BOPET films that provide strong oxygen and moisture barrier properties.
To meet sustainability goals, the company has introduced Ultra High Barrier metallized BOPP films as an alternative to aluminum foil. These films are designed for dry pet food, treats, and functional nutrition, offering reduced material complexity while maintaining barrier performance. For high-temperature applications like retort pet food, retort-grade CPP films are also part of the offering.
India’s growing pet food market, driven by increased pet adoption and demand for premium products, has created a need for packaging solutions that ensure safety and performance. Cosmo Films’ new portfolio is backed by FSSC 22000 and FDA-compliant structures, enabling compatibility with global food safety standards.
This development supports Cosmo Films’ broader strategy to expand into high-growth segments within flexible packaging through innovation and compliance.
