Dow has announced the launch of its INNATE™ TF 220 Precision Packaging Resin, a high-density polyethylene innovation designed to support recyclable mono-material packaging and enable high-performance biaxially oriented polyethylene (BOPE) films.
The company also confirmed a new collaborative effort with Liby, a prominent Chinese laundry detergent brand, integrating 10% REVOLOOP™ post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin into the packaging of Liby’s “Floral Era” detergent line. This initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions while maintaining packaging durability.
“Asia Pacific is where material science meets circular ambition,” said Bambang Candra, commercial vice president, APAC, Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics. “Through breakthrough innovations like INNATE™ TF 220 resin and strategic partnerships, we are accelerating the shift toward packaging circularity.”
INNATE™ TF 220 features a unique molecular structure that improves processing stability and enables efficient biaxial stretching, resulting in reduced manufacturing waste. It also enhances end-use performance with improved stiffness and heat resistance, essential for applications such as printing and lamination. The resin supports mono-material packaging, which aligns with regional sustainability policies, including China’s “Double Carbon” goals.
Zhang Liping, general manager of Liby’s R&D Center, noted, “Our strategic partnership with Dow has led to innovations such as China’s first fully recyclable laundry packaging and the use of PCR resins in the ‘Floral Era’ series. This collaboration enhances the sustainable value of our products.”
Dow stated that the resin has already been deployed across multiple applications, including food, beverage, and personal care packaging. The initiative underscores Dow’s broader commitment to advancing circular packaging solutions through collaboration, material innovation, and sustainable design strategies.
