Durst Group has announced the integration of GMG’s spectral color management technology into its Durst Workflow software and Smart Factory portfolio. The update will be officially launched at Printing United 2025, as part of Durst’s Open Software Initiative.
The integration aims to standardize color accuracy across various printing systems and substrates, offering a consistent production output regardless of application. Durst confirmed that the GMG technology will be embedded into all new installations of the Durst Workflow. Existing users with valid software agreements will receive the update at no additional cost.
The enhancement covers Durst’s operational segments including labels and packaging, corrugated, and sign and display. It also becomes a core feature of the company’s modular Smart Factory framework, which is designed to enable fully connected and automated production workflows.
“By integrating GMG into our Durst Workflow and open Smart Factory platform, we are delivering a new level of color consistency – fully automated and highly scalable,” said Michael Deflorian, Director Business Unit Software & Solutions at Durst Group. “At the same time, this marks a first real-world example of a true best-of-breed integration in the spirit of our Open Software Initiative.”
Darrian Young, Global Partnership Manager at GMG, commented: “This partnership brings together two companies with innovation and quality at the core of their DNA. The integration into the Durst Workflow and Smart Factory architecture enables a consistent, media-neutral production process – a real gamechanger for the market.”
Durst’s adoption of GMG technology signals a continued push toward open, cross-platform solutions that support streamlined and standardized digital print production.
