Turkish firm EROĞLU Global Holding A.Ş. has signed an agreement with the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) to build a carton and packaging factory in Egypt’s Qantara West Industrial Zone. The project will cover 70,000 m² with a total investment of USD 175 million.
The factory will produce Tetra Pak units, carton boxes, and sheets, with 50% of output designated for export and 50% for the local market. The facility is expected to create 2,000 direct jobs and will contribute to strengthening Egypt’s packaging sector and supply chain infrastructure.
Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE, said the development contributes to national industrial goals. “The project strengthens the industrial supply chain, adds value to Egyptian products, and increases the total number of projects in Qantara West Industrial Zone to 52,” he stated.
This marks EROĞLU Global Holding A.Ş.’s fourth investment in Qantara West, making it the largest industrial investor in the zone. The group already operates three projects in the same location, highlighting its long-term commitment to the region’s manufacturing landscape.
Cumulative investments in Qantara West now total USD 1.531 billion across 3,537,100 m², supporting 72,665 direct jobs. The agreement underscores SCZONE’s strategy to attract foreign industrial partners and EROĞLU Global’s growing footprint in Egypt’s packaging and manufacturing sectors.
The collaboration signals continued cross-border investment momentum in the packaging industry, driven by demand for localised production and export capacity.
