ExxonMobil and Clipsico Pack Boost Stretch Film Performance with New Polymer Collaboration

Clipsico Pack’s upgraded hand wrap film line shows 70% capacity boost using ExxonMobil’s Exceed Flow m 1716 resin.

ExxonMobil has partnered with Middle East-based stretch film manufacturer Clipsico Pack to improve hand wrap film performance and production efficiency. The collaboration centers on the use of Exceed™ Flow m 1716 resin, part of ExxonMobil’s new Signature Polymers portfolio, aimed at addressing technical challenges in high-tenacity stretch film applications.

The partnership enabled Clipsico Pack to develop a new hand wrap film formulation that delivers stronger mechanical properties, faster production, and material efficiency. According to the companies, the upgraded film achieved a 70% increase in production capacity, compared to a standard market reference, allowing for significantly faster extrusion line speeds.

Additionally, the new formulation resulted in up to 5% higher wind force at 50% and 100% pre-stretch, enhancing the film’s performance during pallet wrapping. Tear resistance increased by 6% at 100% pre-stretch, offering greater durability and load containment. Notably, the film’s break time improved by 90%, contributing to better operational reliability.

“These improvements demonstrate the value of close collaboration and advanced resin technology in stretch film innovation,” the companies stated.

The partnership also enabled Clipsico Pack to reduce reliance on more expensive materials while delivering consistent film strength and quality. This supports greater competitiveness in the high-tenacity film segment and aligns with industry needs for thinner, stronger, and more reliable packaging films.

The project is part of ExxonMobil’s broader effort to unify its polyolefin solutions under the Signature Polymers brand, simplifying product access and fostering cross-industry collaboration.
