Guala Closures, a global player in producing closures for the spirits, wine, beer, non-alcoholic beverages, and edible oil industries, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Lagos Free Zone. This expansion marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth strategy, reinforcing its commitment to Africa and one of the continent’s most dynamic economies.
The state-of-the-art plant, which spans nearly 5,000 square meters, was constructed in just 22 weeks and became operational by the end of 2024. It will serve West African markets, supplying advanced anti-counterfeiting closures for spirits bottles and other beverage products, with specific innovations tailored to the region’s needs.
Andrea Lodetti, CEO of Guala Closures, expressed: “This investment underscores our commitment to advancing in the African market and creating value for our partners. Our global presence and deep understanding of local markets allow us to stay close to our customers, offering customized solutions and outstanding service.”
Nigeria’s rapidly growing market, driven by a young population exceeding 235 million, presents substantial opportunities for Guala Closures. With a median age of just 18, the country is witnessing a surge in demand for premium products, particularly within the spirits and beverage sectors. This new facility will support local businesses and global brands with high-quality closures tailored to regional needs.
Mrs. Adesuwa Ladoja, CEO of Lagos Free Zone, welcomed the expansion, noting: “We are committed to supporting the next phase of growth in Nigeria and West Africa for Guala Closures.”
