Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG) has taken over service operations in Brazil for packaging machinery from Gerhard Schubert GmbH. The agreement strengthens HEIDELBERG’s role in the packaging segment by providing on-the-ground technical support for Schubert’s installed systems across the region.

Under the agreement, HEIDELBERG will provide production support and performance optimization for Schubert machines. The services include fault analysis, technical consulting, training, and maintenance. Additional responsibilities cover installation, relocation, and repair of complete packaging systems.

This move enables Schubert, a German manufacturer of packaging systems for the food, beverage, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical sectors, to leverage HEIDELBERG’s established service network in Brazil.

“Extending the use of our professional and efficient service network to international partners such as the Schubert Group is part of the Heidelberg growth strategy,” said Jürgen Otto, CEO of HEIDELBERG. “By expanding the range of services we offer to cover the entire packaging value chain, we are implementing our strategy of becoming a systems integrator, leveraging synergies in this growth segment.”

The collaboration also supports Schubert’s strategic presence in emerging markets. “As a medium-sized family company, we want to have a presence in growth markets such as Brazil. That makes the collaboration with HEIDELBERG and its technical expertise an ideal step,” said Marcel Kiessling, Managing Director at Schubert.

HEIDELBERG views this model as scalable, with plans to expand similar service offerings to other companies and sectors. The company cites its logistics capacity and experience in global parts supply as enablers for extending this approach to additional markets.
