State-of-the-art facility at Dubai Industrial City to drive innovation in packaging, automation, and smart manufacturing sectors

In a strategic move to strengthen the UAE’s industrial capabilities and accelerate workforce readiness in future-facing sectors, Himatrix Group, a prominent player in industrial automation, quality solutions, and advanced manufacturing, has inaugurated its new Technical Training Centre at Dubai Industrial City, a TECOM Group PJSC development and one of the region’s largest manufacturing and logistics hubs.

The AED 30.5 million facility was unveiled in the presence of Christer Viktorsson, Director General of the UAE’s Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), alongside Dr. Rehab Al Ameri, Managing Partner at Himatrix Group; Nadeer Ali, Founder and Chairman of Himatrix Group; and Saud Abu Alshawareb, Executive Vice President – Industrial at TECOM Group PJSC.

The Himatrix Training Centre is positioned to become a regional benchmark for capacity building in high-growth industries including packaging and label manufacturing, plant automation, AI and robotics, material testing, and security systems. Training will be deeply embedded within real-world environments via Himatrix’s own industrial verticals such as Matrix Pack, specializing in smart packaging and Industry 4.0 solutions, and ICPRO, focused on robotics and automation.

“This centre marks a new chapter in Himatrix Group’s mission to build national technical capacity,” said Dr. Rehab Al Ameri. “We are aligning our programs with national industrial strategies and regulatory priorities to ensure that UAE-based professionals are equipped with world-class expertise across AI, radiation tech, packaging instrumentation, and beyond.”

With a training capacity of 720 professionals annually, the centre will initially serve national stakeholders and government-linked entities before expanding to broader industry participation. The hands-on curriculum will serve as a pipeline for skilled engineers, technicians, and specialists across manufacturing, testing laboratories, and smart production lines—particularly in high-specification packaging and label segments.

“This is the culmination of a vision we began in 2005,” added Nadeer Ali, Founder and Chairman. “Through this centre, we aim to be a transformative force in the professional development ecosystem—bridging academia, industry, and innovation.”

Saud Abu Alshawareb of TECOM Group emphasized the strategic importance of the initiative:

“As we work towards achieving the ambitions of Operation 300bn and ‘Make it in the Emirates’, industrial upskilling is critical. Himatrix’s new facility perfectly complements our vision for Dubai Industrial City as a nucleus of sustainable manufacturing.”

Located adjacent to the group’s advanced quality and testing lab—claimed to be the first of its kind in the region—the new training centre adds to Himatrix’s growing regional footprint. Its location near key logistics nodes, including Jebel Ali Port, Etihad Rail freight terminal, and Al Maktoum International Airport, ensures accessibility for industry professionals across the UAE.

With the UAE packaging and label industries shifting toward automation, compliance, and sustainability, the Himatrix Training Centre comes at a critical juncture—providing the skilled talent needed to future-proof operations and enhance global competitiveness.
