Dortmund, August 19, 2025 – KHS GmbH has received a platinum medal from EcoVadis for the first time, placing the company among the top one percent of over 150,000 organizations assessed worldwide. The rating platform recognized the Dortmund-based systems provider for its progress in sustainability, with KHS achieving 86 out of 100 points, up from 75 points last year.

EcoVadis evaluates companies on up to 21 sustainability criteria across four categories: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. KHS improved significantly in ethics and labor and human rights, supported by extended guideline and certification management programs, while also advancing in sustainable procurement and maintaining strong performance in environmental practices.

“We’ve met the strict requirements of EcoVadis and had our sustainability achievements rated since 2012. Our platinum medal sends both an important message to our customers and acts as confirmation for the KHS Group that we’re taking our responsibility to sustainable business seriously and are on the right track here,” said Kai Acker, CEO of KHS GmbH.

KHS also achieved the highest EcoVadis carbon scorecard rating of “leader,” demonstrating progress in decarbonization efforts and alignment with its goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

The company was further recognized for its voluntary sustainability reporting, which now includes elements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). “With this, we want to provide our stakeholders with a detailed insight into our system of sustainability management,” noted Nicole Pohl, senior ESG manager at KHS.

KHS aims to progressively align its reporting with CSRD standards in the coming years to ensure transparency and comparability while strengthening future rating outcomes.
