Konica Minolta named leader in IDC MarketScape 2025 for high-speed digital label printers

Konica Minolta’s digital label printing solutions highlighted for productivity and energy efficiency.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe GmbH has been positioned as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide High-Speed Digital Label Printers 2025 Vendor Assessment (Doc #US51812724e, August 2025).

The IDC MarketScape report identifies a significant shift in the label printing industry, as digital transformation continues to reshape the sector. Shorter production runs and increasing demand for on-demand label printing are driving the move from analog to digital. This shift is attributed to the cost-effectiveness and flexibility of digital printing, which also contributes to waste reduction.

According to IDC, Konica Minolta has placed over 1,700 of its toner-based label presses in the market. The AccurioLabel series is noted to have found a “sweet spot” by balancing print quality with productivity.

The report highlights several strengths in Konica Minolta’s offering. The company’s AccurioLabel presses are compact and designed for efficient production, with optional inline finishing. The presses incorporate energy-efficient features, including advanced HDE toner technology that reduces fusing temperature and lowers power consumption.

Konica Minolta also provides its proprietary IC-605 digital front end and offers integration with a Creo controller for the AccurioLabel 230 and 400 models.

Toshitaka Uemura, Head of IP Business at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe, commented: “By addressing our customers’ challenges — from shorter runs and tighter deadlines to the need for skilled labour and environmental responsibility — we continue to deliver innovations like the AccurioLabel 230 and AccurioLabel 400 that redefine what’s possible in digital label production.”

This year marks ten years since Konica Minolta entered the digital label press market. Its latest systems, including the AccurioLabel 400, offer print resolutions up to 3,600 x 2,400 dpi and support features such as white toner and lower energy use.
