The Kraft Heinz Company has named Steve Cahillane as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2026. The announcement comes as the company moves forward with its planned separation into two independent, publicly traded entities. According to the company’s official statement, Cahillane will also serve as CEO of one of the newly formed businesses, Global Taste Elevation Co.
Carlos Abrams-Rivera, the current CEO, will step down on January 1, 2026, and remain with the company as an advisor until March 6, 2026, to support the transition. The Board of Directors will begin a global search to appoint a CEO for the second entity, North American Grocery Co.
Cahillane previously served as Chairman, President, and CEO of Kellanova, overseeing its separation from Kellogg Company and leading its transformation into a global snacking business. His earlier executive experience includes roles at The Nature’s Bounty Co., The Coca-Cola Company, and AB InBev.
Commenting on the appointment, Cahillane said, “I am honored to be joining Kraft Heinz as CEO at such a pivotal and exciting time. The planned separation will accelerate the company’s ability to compete and win in today’s environment.”
As part of the leadership changes, John T. Cahill, currently Vice Chair of the Board, will succeed Miguel Patricio as Board Chair. Patricio will remain a member of the Kraft Heinz Board.
The leadership transition is positioned to guide Kraft Heinz through its next phase of structural and strategic change.
