South African label converter Label & Litho has installed the country’s first Nilpeter FB-14 flexo press, strengthening both its production capabilities and Nilpeter’s presence in the region.
The FB-14 is the latest model in Nilpeter’s FB-Line, developed to provide high performance in a compact design with an emphasis on automation and efficiency. The new press will allow Label & Litho to produce pressure-sensitive labels, wrap-around labels, and tags for a range of sectors, including food and beverage, household care, health and beauty, and industrial applications.
The investment was supported by Nilpeter’s South African partner, CSM, which has been instrumental in coordinating projects and customer support in the region.
“It is always a special moment, when we confirm a new press order with Label & Litho. As a long-standing and loyal Nilpeter customer, our relationship goes far beyond business – it’s built on mutual trust, respect, and shared values,” said Jesper Jørgensen, Global Sales Manager at Nilpeter.
Founded in the early 1960s, Label & Litho in its current form was established in 1996 through the merger of Esmar Printers and Akasia Rekenaarvorms en Ettikette by the Smit brothers. Today, from its base in Silvertondale, Pretoria, the third-generation family business provides flexographic, lithographic, and digital printing solutions to customers across South Africa. The company is a level 2 BEE-certified business.
Nilpeter has recently intensified its focus on the African market, participating in ProPak Africa in Johannesburg earlier this year. The installation at Label & Litho marks a milestone for the supplier in supporting new technological adoption among South African converters.
