Lecta Launches PFAS-Free Grease-Resistant Label for Food Packaging

New labelling solution targets food industry needs for grease resistance and regulatory compliance.

Lecta Self-Adhesives has introduced Adestor Gloss GP PFAS-free, a self-adhesive label material designed for high grease resistance, targeting food packaging applications such as cured meats, cheeses, oils, and ready meals.

The new product offers a per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)-free formulation, aligning with current European regulations and the sector’s growing focus on environmental and health standards. The label material is available with FSC® C011032 Chain of Custody forest certification upon request.

“At Lecta Self-Adhesives, we are fully committed to developing solutions that address today’s technical challenges while contributing to environmental protection,” said Roger Puente Vila-Masana, Business Development & Product Manager Director at Lecta Self-Adhesives. “With Adestor Gloss GP PFAS-free, we are taking a decisive step toward safer, more responsible labelling that meets market expectations.”

Adestor Gloss GP PFAS-free adds to Lecta’s barrier solution portfolio and is positioned to meet functional and safety requirements where contact with greasy food substances is unavoidable. Its introduction reflects a broader industry movement toward PFAS-free alternatives as regulatory scrutiny increases.

The Adestor brand, with over five decades of experience in self-adhesive materials, continues to serve sectors requiring performance and compliance in labelling solutions. The entire range is manufactured under standards for environmental management (ISO 14001 and EMAS), energy efficiency (ISO 50001), quality (ISO 9001), and occupational health and safety (ISO 45001).
