Martin Automatic will exhibit two versions of its MBS automatic unwind splicer at Labelexpo Europe 2025, offering label and packaging converters a close look at non-stop web handling technologies optimized for high-speed, space-conscious production environments.

Set to be featured on Stand 4D37, the MBS splicers form the starting point of a fully automated line that will span four exhibition booths. This integrated setup—making its European debut after a successful run at Labelexpo Americas 2024—includes downstream collaboration with ETI Converting and LEMU Group, aimed at demonstrating the seamless integration of automation in label and packaging production.
Both MBS units are designed to run without stopping to change rolls, with one presented in a standard configuration and the other featuring a 90-degree turn bar. This modified design reduces the equipment’s inline footprint, making it particularly useful in packaging facilities where floor space is limited.
Each MBS unwinder is capable of handling rolls up to 660mm in diameter, operating at line speeds of up to 250 meters per minute in the standard configuration, and up to 152 meters per minute with the turn bar layout. These capabilities make the machines suitable for high-volume production lines common across the MEA packaging industry.
In preparation for the trade show, Martin Automatic’s unwinders will be tested at LEMU Group’s facility in Ibarra, Spain. This behind-the-scenes preview offers potential buyers and partners a chance to assess the machines in a production-ready setting.
The inclusion of these technologies at Labelexpo underscores the growing need for automation in packaging workflows, particularly in emerging MEA markets where efficiency and footprint optimization are key drivers of investment.
