OMET has launched its latest flexographic printing press, the KFlex K6, marking a significant development in press automation, modular flexibility, and sustainability for label and packaging converters.
At the core of the KFlex K6 is a newly designed flexo unit, featuring a gearless direct-drive transmission optimized for sleeve technology. The unit integrates AutoMate Technology with a wide touch panel HMI on each station, smart LED indicators, and automated guard opening. Automated print pressure adjustment reduces manual involvement, supporting consistent quality while easing operator workload.
The press also introduces a redesigned Cold Foil Saver system. Capable of managing up to four foil lanes with two reels, the system allows independent adjustments per lane, helping reduce foil consumption and material waste while doubling productivity using the same amount of foil.
In die-cutting, OMET has upgraded its Easy Change Die-Cut (ECDC) system. Magnetic cylinder changeovers can now be completed in less than a minute. With automatic pressure positioning and on-the-fly pre-register adjustment, the system minimizes downtime and manual handling. A newly developed micrometric depth control system, OMET Gap Pro, has been integrated, offering greater precision in die-cutting operations.
Register control also sees enhancements through the Multivision+ system, which uses multiple cameras per unit to fine-tune register in real time. It supports up to 17 units and limits edge waste to just 6 mm across the entire print run, regardless of color count. The system is designed to reduce waste and setup time by up to 80%.
The KFlex K6 is built on OMET’s SWITCH platform, enabling users to interchange different printing and converting units. A new cassette-style offset unit was introduced, featuring sleeve technology and improved ink management.
With its modular design and automation features, the KFlex K6 aims to improve productivity, precision, and operational efficiency across the flexo printing industry.
