Quadpack has announced the expansion of its injection-moulding capabilities at its Kierspe manufacturing site in Germany to include the production of PET dip-in lip gloss bottles. The investment marks a significant step in the company’s ongoing strategy to localise production for the European market and strengthen its presence in the colour cosmetics segment.
The move leverages Quadpack’s expertise in thick-wall PET injection moulding—traditionally used in skincare packaging—now extended to include colour cosmetics formats such as 6ml monomaterial lip gloss bottles. These new dip-in packs are manufactured using recyclable PET and can incorporate high levels of post-consumer recycled (PCR) content, aligning with sustainability targets across the beauty sector.
“The new equipment is dedicated to the production of lip gloss bottles for our monomaterial dip-in packs,” the company confirmed. “There is a market gap for dip-in packs that are compatible with high-alkane content formulations, particularly in 6ml full-PET lip gloss solutions,” said Pierre-Antoine Henry, Senior Director – Marketing, Innovation & Strategic Development at Quadpack. “We can now meet demand in the region for the majority of our customers, while underscoring our credentials in colour cosmetics.”
By bringing this production capability to Europe, Quadpack aims to reduce supply chain complexity, improve delivery lead times, and lower the carbon footprint associated with overseas sourcing. The Kierspe facility, which already produces and decorates PET jars, bottles, and airless packaging for skincare, now offers a broadened product portfolio that also includes makeup packaging solutions.
Quadpack’s dip-in packs are part of its hybrid manufacturing model, combining in-house production with partnerships across its global supply chain. The newly-produced PET bottles are designed to work with Quadpack’s proprietary range of high-performance applicators, offering turnkey packaging systems for cosmetics brands.
“This is an important step in bridging the gap between Asian technology, cost and know-how with European manufacturing expertise,” Henry added.
With sustainability, regionalisation, and material innovation continuing to drive packaging decisions in the beauty sector, Quadpack’s investment is positioned to serve growing demand for locally-manufactured, recyclable cosmetic packaging formats across Europe.
