Sidel has been recognised at the 2026 SEAL (Sustainability, Environmental Achievement and Leadership) Business Sustainability Awards for two technologies aimed at reducing material use and energy consumption in beverage production: the EvoBLOW Laser and the SWING® Evo tunnel pasteuriser.
The EvoBLOW Laser was acknowledged for its role in improving PET bottle production efficiency. The system is designed to reduce downtime, optimise PET material distribution along the bottle and enable lower overall PET use. It delivers energy savings, lowers maintenance requirements and reduces preform waste by around 50% compared with comparable halogen solutions. The technology is also less sensitive to material property variations, supporting increased and more efficient use of recycled PET (rPET). When heating settings or processes need to be adjusted, changes can be made immediately, helping maintain consistent bottle quality.
“Sidel’s new EvoBLOW Laser represents what’s possible when performance and sustainability move forward together,” said Alexandre Huet, Product Manager for Blowing at Sidel. “This award is meaningful, as it recognises the impact of Sidel’s work, lighter but stronger packaging, lower electricity use, reduced waste and easier use of rPET.”
The SWING® Evo tunnel pasteuriser was recognised for its configuration designed to reduce heat and water consumption. Its counterflow system and dedicated heat and water circuits minimise heat dispersion and eliminate unnecessary circulation between tanks. Each module operates independently, allowing the pasteuriser to adapt to specific production requirements.
The system can also be equipped with PRINCE-E, a pasteurisation control system that ensures a high-precision bactericidal effect while preventing under-pasteurisation through a predictive approach. The software incorporates additional features to further reduce energy and cooling water consumption while supporting fully automated operations.
The SEAL awards, launched in 2017, recognise companies making measurable contributions to sustainability. Previous recipients have included Apple, IKEA and Adidas.
