SIG launches camel milk in aseptic cartons in Saudi Arabia

NOUG Camel UHT Milk in SIG MiniBloc 125ml on-the-go aseptic cartons is so easy to handle by consumers of all ages – including children.

SIG has entered a new product category with the launch of camel milk in aseptic cartons in Saudi Arabia. The product, NOUG Camel UHT Milk from Sawani, part of the MILAF Global Food Company, is produced and co-packaged locally by United National Dairy Co. The launch marks the first time camel milk has been packed in aseptic cartons using SIG technology.

Camel milk has long been part of Saudi dietary tradition and is increasingly positioned as a premium dairy product in the Middle East. It is commonly associated with a distinct nutritional profile and is gaining wider commercial interest across regional retail and distribution channels.

The product is packed in SIG MiniBloc cartons in a 125 ml format. The aseptic packaging allows long shelf life without refrigeration and supports distribution across multiple channels. The pack format is designed for ease of handling and portion control, including for children and on-the-go consumption.

According to SIG, the project forms part of a broader agreement supported by Saudi institutional investment, aligned with national priorities around food security, local production and dairy sector development.

“This project marks a category first for SIG and reflects our ability to apply aseptic technology to new and non-conventional dairy applications,” said Abdelghany Eladib, President and General Manager India, Middle East and Africa at SIG. He added that the initiative supports the conversion of existing volumes to aseptic carton packaging while strengthening local supply chains.

Bander Alqahtani, Managing Director of MILAF Global Food Company, said camel milk is a core element of Saudi heritage and that the NOUG brand aims to integrate it into modern consumption habits.

Maher Eldaly, CEO of Sawani, said the launch targets convenient, child-friendly portions for wider consumption. Abdullah AlSaleh, CEO of United National Dairy Co, said camel milk requires specialised processing and quality controls.
