SIG has signed contracts to supply nine aseptic filling lines during the Gulfood Manufacturing 2025 trade show, held from November 4 to 6 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The deals, concluded during the three-day event, reflect SIG’s expanding role in aseptic packaging for the food and beverage sector across the region.
The company also received the Best Packaging Innovation Award at the event for its SIG Terra Alu-free + Full barrier packaging material. This solution eliminates the aluminum layer from full-barrier aseptic cartons, contributing to a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by up to 61%, according to the company. The packaging retains an up to 12-month shelf life and is compatible with SIG’s existing filling lines.
“We are pleased to announce the successful sale of 9 filling lines at Gulfood Manufacturing, reflecting the strong demand for our sustainable and efficient packaging solutions,” said Abdelghany Eladib, President & General Manager, India, Middle East and Africa at SIG. “The Best Packaging Innovation award for the SIG Terra Alu-free + Full barrier further validates our success to innovate and deliver high-performance solutions that meet the evolving needs of the food and beverage industry.”
At the event, SIG showcased a full spectrum of its aseptic solutions through three exhibition zones: SIG Café, SIG Supermarket, and SIG On-the-Go, highlighting packaging for different consumption channels and formats. The company also hosted “SIG Talks,” a series of panel discussions covering topics such as sustainability, digitalisation, and packaging for drinkable yogurt and affordable protein.
In addition, SIG highlighted a new collaboration with Nutrition from Water (NXW) to co-develop aseptic packaging for algae-based protein beverages, aimed at addressing nutrition challenges in emerging markets. Sample concepts were presented during the exhibition.
