Tetra Pak Achieves Platinum Rating in EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment

Tetra Pak has earned an EcoVadis Platinum rating, placing it among the top 1% of assessed companies worldwide.

Tetra Pak has been awarded the Platinum medal in the latest EcoVadis sustainability assessment, placing the company among the top 1% of more than 130,000 organisations evaluated globally.

The assessment measures performance across four key categories: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis is a widely used platform for evaluating corporate sustainability practices across supply chains.

According to the company, the rating reflects efforts to integrate sustainability into its operations, supported by a value chain approach involving close collaboration with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders. In 2024, Tetra Pak established a Sustainability Excellence team to enhance its capabilities in processes, systems, and data management, while embedding sustainability more deeply into daily operations.

As part of these efforts, Tetra Pak’s supplier engagement programme, “Join Us in Protecting the Planet,” helped 29 suppliers set validated science-based climate targets in 2024. The company also reported a 15% reduction in emissions from purchased materials compared with its 2019 baseline, attributing this to improved allocation and closer supplier collaboration.

In addition, the company introduced a new Supplier Code of Conduct built on 15 principles to strengthen human rights and environmental due diligence across its supply chain.

“This achievement reflects the determination of everyone at Tetra Pak to drive our sustainability transformation, together with stakeholders across the value chain,” said Lars Holmquist, Executive Vice President at Tetra Pak. “The resulting Platinum EcoVadis rating demonstrates our shared passion for continuous improvement and commitment to embedding long-term sustainability across every part of our operations and value chain.”
