TITAN Egypt Joins Waste Recycling Alliance to Advance Sustainable Packaging and Construction

TITAN x Beni Suef agreement signing ceremony.

TITAN Egypt has partnered with Beni-Suef University as an industrial member of the new “Green Recycling Innovation and Sustainable Development” Alliance, a project focused on transforming how Egypt handles construction, agricultural, and packaging waste. The alliance is part of the presidential initiative “Alliance & Development – Northern Upper Egypt,” with a strong focus on recycling and sustainable development.

A central goal of the alliance is to build a practical model for reusing construction and demolition waste, along with plastic and industrial waste, to produce environmentally safer building materials. This has direct implications for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region’s packaging and materials sectors, where waste management and reuse are increasingly tied to regulatory and environmental goals.

Artificial intelligence and advanced industrial technology will be applied to improve recycling efficiency and lower carbon emissions. These innovations are especially relevant to the packaging industry, which faces growing pressure to reduce its environmental footprint through better material reuse and end-of-life planning.

Beni-Suef University, through its engineering faculty, is leading the scientific aspect of the project. “Our participation in this alliance reflects our deep conviction in the importance of academic institutions actively engaging in impactful national initiatives,” said Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni-Suef University. “We firmly believe that the integration of scientific research, industry, and community service is the true path to lasting and meaningful change.”

TITAN Egypt’s CEO, Amr Reda, emphasized the practical impact of the partnership: “This alliance presents a real opportunity to explore and repurpose construction and demolition waste into low-carbon, environmentally compatible building solutions.” He added that TITAN Egypt is committed to applying its technical expertise to scale the project’s outputs within the Egyptian market.

For the packaging and construction sectors in MEA, such collaborations represent a growing shift toward integrating sustainability into supply chains—turning waste into value.
