Toyo Printing Inks, part of the artience Group, has inaugurated a new USD 70 million factory in the Manisa Organized Industrial Zone, western Turkey. Built on a 62,500 m² site, the facility significantly expands the company’s production capacity and reinforces its commitment to sustainable manufacturing and regional innovation.
At the opening ceremony, attended by Turkish and Japanese dignitaries, Yakup Benli, CEO and Board Member of Toyo Printing Inks, highlighted the strategic value of the investment: “This factory is not just a production site—it is a symbol of the friendship and cooperation between Turkey and Japan. As we mark more than 100 years of diplomatic relations, this facility carries that legacy forward.”
The new plant is equipped with advanced automation and energy-efficient systems and is set to manufacture high-demand products such as lamination adhesives, previously imported. “We aim to double our production capacity and establish a key base for exports to neighbouring markets,” Benli added.
Kenichi Kasahara, Consul General of Japan in Istanbul, emphasized growing bilateral economic ties: “Manisa now hosts many Japanese firms, which shows our deepening cooperation. This opening is a step into the second century of our friendship.”
Satoru Takashima, CEO of artience Group, noted the significance of the facility for the packaging industry: “The plant will support wider market reach with high-performance inks and adhesives. In phase two, we’ll introduce sustainable solutions including water-based and metal packaging inks.”
Chairman Isao Kameoka expressed confidence in the Turkish market and said the factory reflects Toyo’s long-term vision for regional and sectoral growth.
