Wallaby Water has launched Australia’s first fully automated bottling line dedicated to aluminium bottles and cans, designed for packaging both still and carbonated spring water. The facility processes up to 50,000 containers daily, using counter-pressure filling to maintain consistent CO₂ levels in sparkling varieties. A planned upgrade in 2027 will increase capacity to 120,000 units per day.
The system allows rapid switching between product types, enabling short production runs across different SKUs without compromising quality. Key components were sourced internationally: US-based CODI supplied the depalletiser, filler, and conveyance; installation was handled by East Coast Canning. A Japanese double-cam ROPP capping machine enables fast transitions between bottle and can formats in under an hour.
Australian firm Automaint Solutions manages the packaging line from capping to palletising, integrating inspection, conveyance, and robotic systems to reduce manual handling and improve output consistency.
The facility supports low-volume custom printing, with minimum orders starting at 400 units per design. Can printing is provided by East Coast Canning, and bottle printing by OnPack, with turnaround in two to four weeks.
Wallaby Water’s expansion meets rising demand from retailers, hospitality venues, and contract clients seeking aluminium alternatives to plastic, and opens export opportunities in the US and Asia.
