Aptar Closures launches liner-less sport cap for hot-fill beverages

Aptar Closures – Harmonic open and closed

Aptar Closures has introduced Harmonic, a new liner-less flip-top sport cap designed for hot-fill beverage applications. The closure is intended for beverage manufacturers seeking a cap that combines consumer convenience, visible tamper evidence and compatibility with high-speed production processes. The product was announced from Crystal Lake, Illinois.

The Harmonic closure features a 33 mm neck finish and is designed with smooth opening and closing, an ergonomic spout and a secure reclosure mechanism intended to help prevent accidental opening during transport and everyday handling. It also incorporates a visible tamper-evidence system to provide an indication of product integrity before first use.

According to Aptar, the closure is compatible with hot-fill processes and high-speed filling lines, allowing its use across a range of beverage applications. The liner-less design removes the need for an internal liner while maintaining functionality for hot-fill packaging requirements.

Aptar stated that changing beverage consumption patterns have increased demand for packaging suited to on-the-go use. The company cited market research indicating that consumer preference for portable beverage formats is encouraging manufacturers to adopt sport closures that provide easy opening, spill prevention and portability.

The closure also incorporates a two-piece construction that enables multiple colour combinations and brand-specific customisation for different product lines.

Emma Bersier, Senior Director, Market Leader Beverage at Aptar Closures, said: “Aptar Closures has built its reputation on designing closure innovations that beverage brands can rely on at scale. Harmonic embodies that commitment by elevating the consumer experience, strengthening product safety, and creating new opportunities for premium product positioning.”
