Aptar Closures to Debut Next-Gen Tamper-Evident Sports Caps at Drinktec 2025

Aptar Closures introduces three next-generation designs for sports beverage closures.

Aptar Closures is set to unveil a trio of next-generation sports beverage closures at Drinktec 2025, taking place September 15–19 in Munich. The company will showcase its new solutions—NexTE, Rocket, and Balance—at Hall C6, Stand C6-342, positioning them as a response to evolving industry demands in safety, consumer convenience, and recyclability.

The closures are engineered to align with the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and Single-Use Plastics (SUP) directive, supporting compliance while addressing market expectations for intuitive use and sustainable design.

NexTE, a 29.25 mm sport closure, features a sleek design and integrated, non-detachable tamper-evident band. It enables one-handed opening and is suitable for both ambient and dry aseptic fill applications.

Rocket, built on the GME 30.40 neck finish, incorporates advanced hinge technology for a wide, spring-back-free opening. The closure’s tethered design enhances recyclability, while its visible tamper-evident system supports product security. A TPE valve option is also available.

Balance, Aptar’s new mono-material polypropylene closure, is lightweight and optimized for recycling. With its audible and tactile tamper-evident system, active hinge, and one-handed operation, it’s designed for on-the-go consumption. Like Rocket, it supports lighter bottle finishes and comes with an optional TPE valve.

“Aptar Closures is committed to developing forward-thinking solutions that elevate user experiences while supporting our partners’ sustainability goals and regulatory requirements,” said Nicola Maffi, Director, Operational Marketing, Closures EMEA.

The company’s expanded portfolio targets applications ranging from water and juice to sports and energy drinks, aligning technical innovation with environmental responsibility.
