Astron Packaging has installed a top-of-the-range digital finishing equipment from AB Graphics at its Dubai plant, thus further cementing its reputation as one of the fastest emerging companies on the global labels landscape.

The new AB Graphics Digicon Series 3 complements perfectly Astron Packaging’s diverse portfolio of manufactured self-adhesive labels across industries including cosmetic, beverage, consumer goods, oil and lubricant, pharmaceutical, automobiles and agriculture. The equipment is distributed by Vinsak, a leading supplier in customised printing and packaging solutions in India, Africa and the Middle East.

Digicon Series 3 systems are modular in design, so that they can be tailored to meet individual needs and feature innovations including the world’s fastest semi-rotary die cutting system – able to run at 150 meters per minute and work in line with the world’s fastest digital print engines. Other popular options and modules include spot varnishing features, cold foil/ lamination and super-gloss units, Matrix rewind, slitting units and dual rewinder.

In April, Astron Packaging invested in its second Durst Tau330 RSC, a fully-configured industrial UV inkjet digital press for labels and packaging in the UAE. The move followed the successful purchase of multiple AB Graphics lines at its India plant, which launched in 2002 and manufactures corrugated containers for varied industries including cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and fast moving consumer goods. Its operations in Dubai began in 2019 with the installation of a Lombardi Synchroline press.

Ross Hollaway, AB Graphics sales manager for the Middle East region, said: “We are very happy that Astron Packaging has reinforced their relationship with AB Graphics with this new kit. Along with Malkhan Ram of Vinsak, this sale has reinforced our team work in opening up a new series of equipment that label printers in the region would find very useful in expanding their product offerings.”

AB Graphics’ manufacturing facilities are in Germany and the UK, and despite being a family-run business, it has achieved the installation of 11,000 machines for 2,500 customers worldwide thanks to an extensive network of distribution partners, including Vinsak.
