Boretech to supply ECC’s 4,000kg/h PET tray recycling line in Egypt

 

 

Boretech has signed a contract with Egyptian Chinese Company (ECC) to supply a 4,000kg-per-hour PET tray washing line for the GreenTech project in Egypt, aimed at producing recycled PET flakes for tray-to-tray applications.

 

 

Announced on 17 July 2026, the installation is described by Boretech as the first dedicated PET tray washing project in Africa and the Middle East. ECC is investing in the project, while consulting engineer Tarek Abdelmawgoud provided strategic advice during its planning phase. The line will process post-consumer PET trays from sources including fresh-food packaging, other food packaging and industrial logistics. Boretech said these trays can be difficult to recycle because of compacted bales, complex material structures, adhesive labels, glue residues and material brittleness.

 

 

Boretech’s PET Tray Washing System will use automated, continuous processing to loosen compacted material, remove contaminants and limit material loss and breakage. The configuration includes material loosening, intensive hot washing, the company’s Mega Aspirator and yield-enhancement technologies. The equipment is intended to recover PET and produce clean flakes suitable for use in new trays. The companies did not disclose the project’s investment value, installation timetable, planned annual output or expected commissioning date in the announcement.

 

 

Mahmoud Samir, owner of ECC, said: “Boretech’s innovative recycling technologies and extensive project experience in PET recycling give us great confidence in this collaboration.” ECC operates in the plastics and polyester-fibre industry and is seeking to improve the quality and production capacity of its recycled polyester products.

 

 

Boretech said the Egyptian installation would be the first regional deployment of its PET tray washing system. The supplier expects the project to provide a model for expanding tray-to-tray recycling in Africa and the Middle East through local processing capacity.
