Canon’s LG-P800 pigment-based inkjet printer for full-color label production.

Canon U.S.A., Inc. has introduced the LG-P800, an 8-inch, pigment-based full-color label printer designed for a range of industrial and commercial labeling applications. The printer was announced on January 8, 2026, and is scheduled to be available later in the same month.

The LG-P800 is positioned for environments where frequent product updates, inventory changes, and varied labeling requirements are common. It is intended to support label production for applications including product identification, inventory management, shipping, retail, and selected food packaging uses. The printer produces labels up to 8.5 inches wide and supports both roll and fan-folded media.

According to Canon, the printer uses a pigment ink system designed to deliver durable output with resistance suited for handling and logistics conditions. The LG-P800 offers printing resolutions of up to 1200 × 1200 dpi and supports edge-to-edge, full-bleed printing on multiple media types, including matte, glossy, film, and synthetic substrates.

The printer features a 4.3-inch LCD touch panel and automatic media detection to simplify setup and operation. Canon has also equipped the LG-P800 with a Sub-Ink Tank System that allows ink tanks to be replaced without stopping production, enabling continued operation during longer print runs and reducing ink waste.

Additional features include support for media widths from 2 inches to 8.5 inches and ENERGY STAR® certification. The standard package includes the printer, printhead, starter ink tanks, roll holder components, and operating documentation.

Canon stated that the LG-P800 is designed to address evolving labeling needs in manufacturing, logistics, and packaging environments where flexibility, print quality, and operational continuity are required.
