CHINAPLAS 2026 closes with record visitor turnout in Shanghai

CHINAPLAS 2026 closed on 24 April at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Hongqiao, Shanghai, reporting record participation across the plastics and rubber value chain.

The four-day exhibition covered 400,000 sqm and hosted 5,104 exhibitors from 45 countries and regions. Organiser Adsale Exhibition Services said the event attracted 350,189 professional visitors from 188 countries and regions, up 24.53% from the 2025 Shenzhen edition. Visitors from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas totalled 86,440, representing 24.68% of attendance.

The show featured more than 3,800 machinery exhibits with live demonstrations and over 1,900 raw material suppliers. More than 350 exhibitors presented global or Asian debut technologies. Key areas highlighted under the theme “Transformation, Collaboration, Sustainability” included circular economy, digitalisation, innovative materials and China’s high-end technologies.

For packaging, the exhibition reflected continued investment in film production, extrusion, injection moulding, blow moulding, thermoforming, recycled materials, bio-based materials and PFAS-free solutions. Exhibitors also presented automation, AI-enabled manufacturing and intelligent recycling sorting systems, with applications across packaging, automotive, electronics, medical and other manufacturing sectors.

CHINAPLAS will return to Shenzhen World Exhibition and Convention Center in Bao’an from 13 to 16 April 2027, continuing its alternating Shanghai-Shenzhen schedule, organisers confirmed after the event’s formal conclusion today.
