Esko has introduced a new AI-powered compliance module, Esko Comply, aimed at automating packaging and label checks to help brands meet regulatory standards and reduce costly production errors.
Integrated within Esko’s WebCenter packaging management solution, the tool is designed to verify packaging components for common compliance issues—such as missing allergen information, incorrect barcodes, and formatting violations—through customizable rule sets and automated processes.
“With this new innovation, we are complementing our existing preflight tools and bringing additional quality assurance validation to our customers’ workflows,” said Jan De Roeck, CMO at Esko.
The tool was developed in consultation with compliance officers, brand managers, and creative teams to ensure it meets regulatory and brand-specific requirements without disrupting existing workflows.
Key features include automated compliance checks, tailored rule configurations, audit trails, collaborative review functions, and AI-based image measurement capabilities. The system enables teams to define image dimensions, logo placements, and color parameters, with AI performing validations automatically.
“As well as streamlining the review and approval process to accelerate the go-to-market of printed packaging, Esko Comply helps eliminate product recalls and reduce the risk of costly reprints,” said De Roeck.
Esko Comply is now available to the pre-release community, ahead of a general release scheduled for November 2025. It was introduced during Esko World 2025, held from June 3–5, where it was presented to over 500 professionals from the packaging and labeling industry.
According to Esko, the tool aims to reduce manual errors and improve collaboration between creative and compliance teams by embedding validation tools into the packaging development process.
