Hotpack has entered into a joint venture with Malaysia-based HZ Corporation to expand the availability of paper-based foodservice packaging across multiple international markets.
Announced on 18 June 2026, the partnership has been formalised through the establishment of HZP Eco Packaging. The venture will focus on supplying paper-based alternatives to single-use plastic packaging across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and North America.
The joint venture combines Hotpack’s market presence and distribution network with HZ Corporation’s manufacturing capabilities in paper-based foodservice packaging. The companies said the collaboration is intended to address increasing demand for sustainable packaging formats and support customers transitioning away from plastic packaging.
Commenting on the agreement, Abdul Jebbar PB, Managing Director and Group CEO of Hotpack, said: “We are happy to sign a pact with Malaysia’s industry major HZ Corporation. This is a major step in Hotpack’s journey toward building a truly global sustainable packaging ecosystem.”
Founded in Dubai in 1995, Hotpack operates across 30 locations worldwide and serves customers in more than 100 countries. The company continues to invest in packaging technologies, manufacturing capacity and international expansion.
HZ Corporation manufactures paper-based foodservice products including paper cups, folding cartons and other paper packaging formats. The company also develops dry moulded fibre technologies for selected packaging applications.
Dato’ Dr. Donald Yap, CEO of HZ Corporation, said the joint venture reflects a shared objective to develop commercially viable paper-based packaging solutions and expand their availability in international markets.
Initial commercialisation efforts will target quick-service restaurant chains, coffee brands, airlines, catering companies and food delivery platforms. The first product range will include paper cups, folding cartons, paper bags and related foodservice packaging products.
According to the companies, products manufactured under this partnership will comply with internationally recognised certifications, including FSC, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, BRCGS and the SMETA 4-Pillar audit framework, with ECO Label certification for compostability where applicable.
