Japanese cosmetics maker plans factory complex in Egypt

Japanese sanitizer maker Saraya is set to build a USD 10 mn sanitizer and cosmetics factory complex in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), according to a statement by the Egypt-Japan Business Council. The complex will serve as an export base for the company’s products to MEA and other countries, in cooperation with the General Authority of the SCZone, VP of Saraya Egypt and Middle East Nabil El Mougi told local media.

 

According to a report published by Egypt Today, the Chairman of the Egyptian-Japanese Business Council, Ibrahim Al-Arabi announced that Japanese cosmetics firm Saraya is set to pile US$10 million into the Suez Canal Economic Zone – the first investment to be made by a Japanese firm in the region.

 

The factory complex is planned to span some 20,000 square meters and will produce J-beauty products and sterilization supplies under the Saraya name. Some 1,500 jobs will be created as a result.
