Raqam buys three Jupiter 670 machines from Prati

“Some of the best technology”: Prati’s Jupiter 670

Raqam International, a Riyadh-based manufacturer of high-quality labels, has boosted its finishing and converting capacity by installing three Prati Jupiter 670 machines.

Raqam’s Managing Director,Khalid Aziz Shah said: “We have invested in three Jupiter 670 mid-web slitter rewinder finishing solutions, implementing top-level quality control. “As for substrate compatibility, the system can convert SA paper and plastic labels, flexible packaging and unsupported paper. “One of the systems has been installed in our Toronto factory; the other two in Riyadh facility.

“Prati offers some of the best technology and is a reliable and trustworthy company to work with.”  Investment in these machines was approximately €600,000.

As the market moves towards the mid-web, Raqam was looking for an equipment manufacturer with a track record of reliability and service excellence. Above all, it had a few bottom-line demands which Mr. Shah said only the Jupiter 670 could satisfy, with its Automatic Workflow Management System avoiding any risks of human error when making corrective actions.

The equipment is conceived for Film and PSL with different shafts and handles thickness from 12-400µ with three rewinding tensions for unsupported lm SA labels and clear-on-clear labels, running at speeds up to 400m/min. Set-up times are no more than nine minutes and stoppages between each working cycle are as short as 14 seconds.

Thanks to the integration of digital cameras and the ability to connect with all Workflow link brands, Jupiter only stops for pre-defined defects which are removed or corrected. What makes the difference is once the rewinder stops, any corrective action is entirely automatic and the end result is error-free every time. What sets the Automatic Workflow Management System apart is that when the rewinder stops, any corrective action is entirely automatic and the end result is error-free every time.

Only in this way do converters achieve total reproducibility of the finished label by zeroing the risk of human error. The system enables fully automatic correction procedures, leading to consistency and failsafe quality of the finished label.
