ReEarth Compostable Films Receive TUV Certifications, Setting New Standards for Sustainable Packaging

S-One Labels & Packaging’s ReEarth compostable flexible packaging films have achieved TUV OK compost HOME and TUV OK compost INDUSTRIAL certifications, confirming their compostability in both home and industrial environments.

With a commitment to developing eco-friendly solutions, S-OneLP’s ReEarth films are designed using bio-based and compostable materials. The company collaborates with innovative global manufacturers to create these films, incorporating bio-based resins, films, adhesives, and coatings.

The TUV OK compost HOME certification ensures that the ReEarth films are fully compostable, even in garden compost piles, which operate at lower temperatures and slower rates compared to industrial composting facilities. On the other hand, products bearing the OK compost INDUSTRIAL label guarantee their compostability in industrial composting settings. This certification covers all components used in the pouch form, including Michelman DigiPrime®, HP Indigo inks, and CatPak™ Matte eBeam overprint varnish.

The following ReEarth films have received TUV certifications:

  • REE34MSUP: ReEarth 3.4 mil Metallized Compostable Pouch Web (unprinted roll stock)
  • REE34MSUP: ReEarth 3.4 mil Metallized Compostable Stand Up Pouch (printed, protected with overprint varnish, and sealed)
  • REE22MSW: ReEarth 2.2 mil Metallized Compostable Snack Web (unprinted roll stock)
  • REE34MSUP (TUV industrial compostability testing, steps 1, 3, and 6): ReEarth 3.4 mil Metallized Compostable Stand Up Pouch

Additionally, the printed pouch made from REE34MSUP is Lomi-approved for home composting.

Sharon Beeman, VP of Sales at S-OneLP, emphasized the company’s dedication to sustainability and meeting customers’ demands for environmentally friendly packaging solutions. The TUV certifications provide alignment with customers’ sustainable initiatives and signify a significant step towards reducing environmental impact.

S-One Labels and Packaging follows a channel-partner model, which streamlines costs and offers products with low minimum order quantities and shorter lead times. By partnering with industry leaders such as Michelman, CharterNex, Futamura, and Kustom Group, the company provides a comprehensive portfolio of digitally printed labels and flexible packaging solutions.

The TUV certifications earned by S-OneLP’s ReEarth compostable films reinforce the company’s commitment to creating packaging that meets the highest standards of sustainability, contributing to a more environmentally conscious future.
