SIG announced two additions to its SIG Neo aseptic carton filling machine portfolio in Dubai on October 1, 2026, targeting food and beverage producers seeking additional capacity within existing production facilities.
The SIG Neo XSlim 32 Aseptic fills 32,000 SIG XSlimBloc single-serve cartons per hour and accommodates nine pack sizes. The SIG Neo Midi 15 Aseptic fills 15,000 multi-serve cartons per hour, handling SIG MidiBloc and SIG MidiFit formats, each in three pack sizes.
According to SIG, the machines increase total output and output per square metre by one-third compared with its standard filling machines for these formats, while maintaining the same compact footprint.
Both models use SIG’s sleeve-based carton technology and open-sleeve filling process. Operators can change pack sizes or formats in less than 15 minutes without replacing machine parts. The company said this supports shorter changeovers and more frequent changes between stock-keeping units.
SIG reported waste rates below 0.5% for both machines and lower total filling costs than its standard machines for the corresponding formats. The release did not provide a numerical breakdown of the cost reductions.
The machines incorporate the SIG Neo HMI, a human-machine interface providing operational controls and performance information. They also feature SIG Neo Shield, which manages sterile airflow and shielding during bottom sealing and pre-folding. SIG said the system removes up to 95% of particles from the air.
Christoph Wegener, SIG’s Chief Markets Officer, said producers were reaching the physical limits of existing plants. The additions are intended to address demand for higher production volumes and packaging flexibility without expanding factory buildings, with single-serve and multi-serve options covering different carton sizes and formats within the existing production footprint for food and beverage applications.
