Al Jawad Flexi has commissioned a Windmöller & Hölscher NOVOFLEX II flexographic press at its new manufacturing facility and is preparing to install an OPTIMEX II blown-film line, advancing an expansion programme spanning film extrusion, printing and converting.
Al Jawad Flexi, part of Takamul Industries, is expanding its flexible packaging manufacturing capabilities through investment in new extrusion, printing and converting technologies from Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H).
The expansion builds on the company’s development since its establishment in 1992 as Al Jawad Plastic and Flexible Packaging Factory. Today, as part of Takamul Industries, the business operates within a wider packaging group serving flexible packaging, folding carton and corrugated applications across Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
A key milestone in the programme has been the commissioning of a W&H NOVOFLEX II flexographic press at Al Jawad Flexi’s new manufacturing facility. According to the companies, the installation is the first NOVOFLEX II in Saudi Arabia, adding advanced flexographic printing capability to the company’s flexible packaging operations.
The investment programme also includes a W&H OPTIMEX II blown-film line, which is scheduled for installation. By combining blown-film extrusion with flexographic printing and additional converting capabilities, Al Jawad Flexi is developing a more integrated production platform to serve packaging requirements across the food, beverage, dairy and FMCG sectors.
The investments form part of the company’s broader expansion roadmap and are aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 drive towards industrial development and advanced local manufacturing.
Commenting on the investment, Shaker Akil, CEO of Takamul Industries, said:
“This new facility represents far more than an expansion of our production footprint. It reflects our commitment to continuously investing in technologies and capabilities that create greater value for our customers and support their future growth. We are building a future-ready manufacturing facility that will further strengthen our ability to deliver innovative, high-quality flexible packaging solutions.”
Akil also highlighted the role of the W&H technologies in the company’s manufacturing strategy:
“With W&H, we are not just investing in machines – we are investing in future-ready capabilities. The NOVOFLEX II has already transformed our print quality and productivity, and we are excited about what the OPTIMEX II will bring next.”
The NOVOFLEX II commissioning represents the first major equipment milestone at the new facility, while the forthcoming OPTIMEX II installation will extend the investment upstream into film production. Additional converting capabilities are also planned as Al Jawad Flexi develops the site into an integrated flexible packaging manufacturing operation.
Karan Sud, General Manager at Windmöller & Hölscher, said:
“Al Jawad Flexi’s commitment to innovation and excellence makes them an ideal partner. Their decision to adopt both NOVOFLEX II and OPTIMEX II showcases a clear vision for growth and leadership in flexible packaging. We are proud to support Al Jawad Flexi on this journey. Seeing the NOVOFLEX II already delivering results is just the beginning of what we believe will be a long and successful collaboration.”
Once the programme is fully implemented, the combination of blown-film extrusion, flexographic printing and converting is expected to broaden Al Jawad Flexi’s manufacturing capabilities and increase its capacity to address evolving flexible packaging requirements in Saudi Arabia and the wider region.
