Amcor launches recycle-ready polypropylene dip cups for foodservice applications

Amcor’s PP Revolution dip cup range is designed for condiments, dressings and sauces used in foodservice packaging applications.

Amcor has announced the commercial availability of PP Revolution, a new range of recycle-ready polypropylene dip cup arrays and lidding solutions for condiments, dressings and sauces used in foodservice applications.

The launch is aimed at helping food brands and foodservice operators move away from traditional polystyrene packaging while maintaining performance, filling efficiency and consumer convenience. The development also reflects the wider pressure on packaging producers and brand owners to align food-contact packaging formats with evolving recyclability requirements and Extended Producer Responsibility regulations.

The PP Revolution platform includes premade dip cup arrays and compatible lidding options. Amcor said the solution is designed to work with existing filling equipment, allowing customers to transition without major changes to their packing operations. The cups also offer improved barrier performance compared with traditional solutions.

The range is available in 10 sizes, from 0.5oz to 2.0oz, and can be supplied in clear, white opaque and custom colours. It is supported by Amcor’s EZ Peel lidding portfolio, including metallised, foil and AmPrima recycle-ready options.

Sarah Paleg, Sustainability Director, Amcor Flexibles North America, said PP Revolution was developed to help brands respond as EPR requirements continue to evolve. She said the platform supports improved recyclability claims today while preparing customers for future regulatory requirements.

Kevin Glaser, Vice President and General Manager – Liquid, Amcor Flexibles North America, said consumers expect packaging that is easy to use, protects freshness and aligns with sustainability expectations. He said the new range was designed to improve the dip cup experience through easy-open lidding, portion-appropriate sizes and premium aesthetics.

Amcor said PP Revolution dip cup solutions are designed for recyclability, with selected sizes rated “Preferred” under the APR Design Guide for Size Sorting Potential. How2Recycle prequalification is also available for selected sizes.

The launch expands Amcor’s portfolio of more sustainable film technologies, which also includes its recycle-ready PET Revolution barrier cup stock.
