Aptar Beauty has developed a custom dispensing pump for L’Occitane-En-Provence’s redesigned hand care collection, with the refillable packaging project supported by Aptar Beauty EMEA and manufactured across two facilities in France.
The pump, based on Aptar Beauty’s Satine cosmetic pump platform, has been developed for L’Occitane’s hand soap, hand wash and hand lotion. The redesigned 350ml and 500ml bottles are available in glass and plastic and can be refilled to extend their product life cycles.
Inspired by L’Occitane’s apothecary heritage, the new packaging uses a wider bottle format. Aptar developed a corresponding large actuator and oversized collar, finished in glossy black, while a 24/410 screw-on neck finish enables the bottles to be opened for refilling.
The pump delivers a 500 μl dose for controlled dispensing. Its wide actuation surface is also designed to provide stability and ease of use, including for people with reduced hand mobility.
Aptar Beauty also developed an orientation system to ensure the pump aligns with the bottle when unlocked and ready for dispensing.

The pump is moulded and decorated at Aptar Beauty’s custom facility in Oyonnax and assembled at its Le Neubourg site. According to Aptar, coordination between the two French facilities supported local manufacturing, supply-chain coordination and delivery of the finished custom product in under a year.
The project combines refillability with dispensing functionality and regional manufacturing, bringing together packaging development and production within Aptar Beauty’s French operations for L’Occitane’s redesigned hand care portfolio across its soap and lotion products.
