Cold Chain Technologies expands EcoFlex reusable services

EcoFlex reusable parcel shippers support circular pharmaceutical packaging and cold-chain distribution.

Cold Chain Technologies (CCT) has expanded its EcoFlex reusable parcel services across Europe, strengthening infrastructure for temperature-controlled pharmaceutical packaging and distribution throughout the EMEA region.

The move reflects growing demand for reusable transport packaging solutions as pharmaceutical manufacturers, logistics providers and healthcare supply chains seek to reduce waste, improve asset utilisation and align with evolving sustainability requirements. EcoFlex, CCT’s range of reusable temperature-controlled parcel shippers, is designed for regional and last-mile pharmaceutical distribution and is available through a leasing model.

The reusable packaging system can reduce storage requirements while lowering the cost per use compared with conventional shipping solutions. EcoFlex can also achieve a fossil fuel use reduction of up to 60.3% versus a standard shipper.

The service expansion is supported by a hub-led operating model and dedicated Centres of Excellence. Customers can access CCT C.A.R.E., which includes the company’s ReNew programme for returns management, reverse logistics, tracking and refurbishment of reusable shipping assets. The programme is designed to support circular packaging workflows by enabling shippers to be returned, reconditioned and redeployed.

“We’re expanding our EcoFlex offering across Europe, enabling customers to benefit from a more integrated reusable solution and service model to improve performance across their cold chain,” said Kristian Williams, Senior Director of Sales – EMEA at Cold Chain Technologies.

The expansion follows the integration of Tower Cold Chain into CCT’s global operations after its acquisition in 2024. The company’s reusable packaging network now includes three global Centres of Excellence and 21 European hubs across 11 countries, strengthening support for pharmaceutical packaging and cold-chain logistics programmes across EMEA.
