Gallus Group announced in St. Gallen on 2 October 2026 that chief financial officer Michael Bsirske will become interim CEO from 1 November 2026, as Dario Urbinati moves to the board to support the label printing technology supplier’s strategic development.
Urbinati will leave his CEO role and join the Board of Directors of Gallus Ferd. Rüesch AG on 1 November, before becoming President of the Board on 1 January 2027. Gallus is a subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG).
The company also appointed Uwe Boerner as Head of Global Sales, effective 1 October 2026. He retains responsibility for Key Accounts and succeeds Thomas Schweizer, who is pursuing an opportunity outside Gallus.
Gallus said the changes are intended to maintain continuity in its strategic direction. Urbinati will continue supporting long-term strategy, innovation and key customer relationships through his board position, while stepping back from daily operational responsibilities.
Bsirske’s experience includes senior management positions at Gallus and HEIDELBERG, alongside roles in technology, industrial and professional services businesses. “That means staying close to the market, listening carefully to what converters need, and working closely with our customers, partners and suppliers to deliver solutions that make a real difference to their businesses,” Bsirske said.
The appointments follow the expansion of Gallus’ digital printing portfolio, including Gallus One and Gallus Five. The company also cited developments across its established product portfolio, the Gallus Experience Center and its expanding presence in regions including India.
Gallus said its long-term strategy remains unchanged. Its System to Compose approach and digital ecosystem remain part of its work to support converters seeking connected printing technologies and more automated production environments, with continued emphasis on customer relationships, innovation and operational execution.
