Amcor is supplying its 28mm two-piece tamper-evident closure for glass bottles to Belgian mineral water brand Ginstberg, the packaging company announced from Zurich on 1 July 2026.
The closure, developed specifically for glass bottles, is being used for Ginstberg’s mineral water range in Belgium. Amcor said the 28mm Flat Cap for Glass Tamper Evident has a patented lightweight design intended to support product protection, pack security and consumer handling. The closure is engineered for still and sparkling beverages and supports carbonation levels of up to 4.3 vol. It is also available with ISCC+ certification for traceability of recycled content.
Ginstberg, based on the edge of the Flemish Ardennes, is officially recognised as natural mineral water. The water is bottled directly at source without additives or additional processing. According to Amcor, the brand’s water is nitrate-free and low in salt.
“Consumer experience of our brand begins with the packaging, so it is essential that the closure is durable and reliable and easy to open and reclose, as well as offering the reassurance of tamper evidence,” said Evi Van De Velde, COO, Ginstberg. “The Amcor closure has both the necessary technical and aesthetic attributes.”
The development comes as European beverage markets respond to deposit return schemes and stronger requirements around refillable and reusable packaging. Amcor said its closure range, including the 28mm Flat Cap for Glass TE, 28mm PolyVent and 28mm PolyGuard models, is used in reusable bottle systems.
“The closure is the consumer’s first interaction with the packaging and therefore has a very important role to play in delivering consumer acceptance and brand loyalty,” said Uli Kolbert, product line manager, beverage closures and home care triggers, Amcor Global Rigid Packaging Solutions.
