Hybrid Software launches PACKZ 12 with AI tools and product authentication support for packaging prepress

Hybrid Software has released PACKZ 12, the latest version of its PDF editing software for the labels and packaging printing industry, introducing new artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities and support for Amazon Transparency as part of its workflow enhancements for packaging prepress operations.

The software update is aimed at packaging converters, prepress specialists and print service providers working across labels, flexible packaging, folding cartons and corrugated packaging. According to the company, the new version combines AI-assisted workflow support with tools designed to improve production efficiency, file preparation and product authentication.

Among the additions is an integrated AI-powered assistant intended to help users navigate software functions, automate repetitive tasks and support the creation of custom scripts and actions within the prepress workflow. Hybrid Software said the feature is designed to reduce the time required for routine operations while assisting operators with more complex production tasks.

PACKZ 12 also introduces native support for Amazon Transparency, a product serialization programme that enables brands to assign unique codes to individual products to help verify authenticity and improve supply chain traceability. The integration allows packaging workflows to generate and manage these codes directly during artwork and prepress preparation.

In addition to the AI assistant and serialization capabilities, the software includes workflow enhancements for PDF editing, quality control and packaging production, with the objective of streamlining artwork management and reducing manual intervention during prepress. The company said the release forms part of its continued development of digital tools for packaging production environments.

The launch reflects the increasing adoption of AI-assisted software and digital traceability technologies within the packaging print sector, as converters and brand owners seek greater production efficiency, workflow automation and improved product authentication across packaging supply chains.
