Milan, Italy – October 24, 2023

The future of IPACK-IMA, a renowned event in the processing and packaging market, is set to unfold in 2025 with a strategic focus on innovation and industry transformation. The show has been a cornerstone in understanding market dynamics, and it is now poised to redefine the concept of trade fair events. Valerio Soli, Chairman of Ipack Ima, shared his insights on the exciting developments and long-term perspectives that will shape this upcoming edition.

Innovation for Industry Advancement

Valerio Soli began by highlighting the continuity of key themes that defined the success of the 2022 event, namely digitalization, sustainability, and innovation. He emphasized that these themes remain relevant and are expected to evolve further, finding deeper applications across various industries. IPACK-IMA 2025 is poised to address these evolving needs, with a particular focus on high-performing sectors such as grain-based food, beverages, and pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, the event will encompass robotics and factory automation, expanding its scope from primary packaging to secondary and tertiary packaging.

Redefining the Exhibition Model

IPACK-IMA 2025 represents a pivotal shift in the traditional concept of all-encompassing fairs. This transformation stems from extensive discussions with key exhibitors and industry stakeholders who have concentrated their business promotion activities within the trade fair channel. Soli explained, “We will be seeing a substantial change in the approach to organizing and conducting trade fairs.” The event will no longer follow the conventional three-yearly schedule but will transition into a series of interconnected trade fair events, each focusing on specific product sectors. This approach aims to guide exhibitors through technological advancements more consistently and timely up until 2028.

A Strong Institutional Network with Global Reach

Soli also emphasized the importance of the close interaction with the market and key players. IPACK-IMA maintains an ongoing partnership with “The Innovation Alliance” project and three concurrent fairs: Print4All, Intralogistica, and GreenPlast. These events offer a comprehensive overview of allied industrial machinery supply chains. Additionally, the event’s strong international orientation is fortified by a network of over 20 agents operating in key markets across Europe, North Africa, and Asia. These agents actively participate in leading international events, further strengthening IPACK-IMA’s global presence.

“In addition to our capability to meet the requirements of the entire supply chain through strategic institutional partnerships, our strong international orientation is a further strength,” Soli concluded. This commitment to internationalization has been a hallmark of IPACK-IMA and will be further consolidated in the 2025 show.

With a clear strategy and a dedicated team, led by Simone Castelli, IPACK-IMA is poised to elevate the value of the industry and its stakeholders in its upcoming exhibition. The path is charted, and the future holds the promise of unprecedented growth and innovation for the packaging and processing industry.
